What is all the fuss about?
The national budget deficit is a perpetual economic and political reality. According to recent major polling data ( Summer 2012- NBC/Wall Street Journal, CBS News/NY Times, Bloomberg National Poll) voter priority lies with the economy and jobs at a 5 to 1 ratio.
If the national budget deficit is not a priority, should it be? The lack of voter and taxpayer knowledge can represent lost opportunities in understanding the impact that the budget deficit has on their lives short and long term. If a person 18 and over of voting age, had an improved understanding of what contributes to the deficit, would their priorities change?
Increased knowledge regarding the nature of budget deficits can result in the voter’s improved ability to decipher the policy decisions of their elected officials.
